What it is

Dead Frontier 2 is a free-to-play online survival-horror game set in a zombie-infested, post-apocalyptic city. Players control a survivor who scavenges ruined buildings for supplies, fights the infected with guns and melee weapons, levels up, and trades with other players at outposts. Combat is realistic and bloody, with frequent gore as zombies and infected humans are killed. Consumable 'Drug' items act as in-game stat boosters that players use and trade. The game is played alongside strangers with open text/CB-radio chat and private messaging, and it sells real-money credits and a Gold Membership for weapons, items, and boosters.

How it's framed

The game frames its violence as defensive survival against a zombie outbreak, casting the killing of the infected as necessary self-preservation and rewarding it with experience and loot; the tone is grim and atmospheric rather than celebratory.
