What it is

Knack is a single-player platforming beat 'em up in which players control a shape-shifting creature made of ancient relics who grows from child-size to skyscraper-size as he absorbs more relics. Across brightly colored levels, players punch, jump, dodge, and smash their way through enemies while solving simple platforming and switch puzzles. The combat is stylized and bloodless, pitting Knack against goblins, robots, tanks, and machines that break apart when defeated; there is no blood, gore, sexual content, strong language, or substances. It is an offline, story-driven adventure with no online play, chat, or purchases.

How it's framed

The story frames Knack and his human allies as protectors of humanity against a hostile goblin species and a traitorous industrialist, presenting combat as heroic problem-solving in a cartoonish, all-ages adventure tone; conflict is resolved through fantastical action rather than realistic harm.
