The player shoots human soldiers with rifles, grenades, artillery and vehicles from a top-down view; hits produce blood splatter and corpses that remain on the field, but there is no dismemberment or gore.
The game is set in an ongoing armed conflict where soldiers are killed en masse as the core of play; the war and its deaths are the backdrop rather than being dwelt on in graphic detail.
Running with Rifles is a top-down tactical shooter in which you play a rank-and-file soldier in a large military conflict, capturing points across an open battlefield alongside dozens of AI teammates. Play centers on firearm combat: you shoot enemy soldiers, throw grenades, drive vehicles, command small squads and call in artillery. Kills produce small blood effects and leave bodies on the ground, but the fixed overhead camera and simple low-poly art mean there is no gore, wound detail or dismemberment. There is no sexual content, nudity, substances or profanity woven into the game. It can be played solo or online with others, where open text and voice chat with strangers are available and moderation is handled per-server by human moderators.
The game frames warfare as fast, chaotic and somewhat light-hearted arcade action rather than a solemn depiction of its costs; soldiers die constantly and en masse, but the stylized top-down presentation and progression-driven, sandbox gameplay keep the tone closer to a toy-soldier battle than a grim war story.
