Farming Simulator 17 is a detailed agricultural simulation set in a North American countryside where you run and grow a modern farm. You plow, sow, fertilize and harvest a range of crops, operate more than 250 licensed tractors, harvesters and other machines, manage forestry, and raise livestock such as cows, pigs, sheep and chickens for their products. Money earned from selling produce funds bigger fields and better equipment. There is no combat, and the animals are tended rather than hunted or hurt. The game can be played solo or in online co-op with others, but this version has no built-in voice or text chat. There is no profanity, sexual content, substance use or frightening material.
The game frames farming as patient, methodical work: the reward loop is planning, maintaining equipment, and reinvesting profits to expand the operation. Livestock are treated as an economic and care activity rather than a target of violence, and there is no conflict, crime or peril in the design.
