What it is
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a relaxed life-simulation game where the player moves to a deserted island and gradually develops it into a small town of friendly, talking-animal neighbors. Play runs in real time and is open-ended: you gather wood and fruit, craft furniture and tools, catch fish and bugs, dig up fossils, plant gardens, decorate, and pay off in-game loans in the island's 'Bells' currency. There is no combat, violence, foul language, or mature content. The only creature interaction is catching fish and insects to display or sell, which is shown without gore. Online play lets you visit other players' islands and share custom clothing and pattern designs; communication with visitors is limited to typed messages, preset reactions, and (through a separate Nintendo phone app) voice chat with friends.
