FIFA 23 recreates the sport of soccer on-screen, modeling matches and league competition at the professional level. It carries official licensing for its clubs, athletes, arenas, and match commentary. A person playing alone can work through options such as career mode, while online play pits them against other people across a range of tournament and match formats. Bundled into the title is FIFA Ultimate Team, or FUT—an add-on that costs nothing to start and lets a user assemble digital rosters from cards obtained at random, either bought with actual currency or unlocked by playing. Within the game, this mode drives most of the financial push and delivers rewards on a chance basis.
