Insurgency is a hardcore multiplayer and co-op tactical first-person shooter set in modern urban combat between security forces and insurgents. The core activity is realistic gun combat: players capture or defend objectives and destroy weapon caches using authentic firearms that kill in just a few shots. It deliberately strips away arcade conveniences — there is no crosshair, no health bar, no ammo counter, and death usually means waiting to respawn — so firefights feel tense and lethal, with loud gunfire and visible blood but without exaggerated gore or dismemberment. There is no sexual content, no substances, and no microtransactions. Because it is played on multiplayer servers, players can encounter open voice and text chat with strangers and community-made mods, which are the main sources of unpredictable content.
How it's framed
