What it is

ReCore is a single-player sci-fi action-adventure and platformer set on a desert planet 200 years in the future. You play Joule Adams, a colonist who wakes from cryo-sleep to find her utopian settlement has failed, and you explore an open world with a squad of loyal robot companions, solving puzzles and battling corrupted machines. Combat is stylized and bloodless: you shoot color-matched energy at robotic enemies and use a grappling hook to yank out their glowing cores. There is no sexual content, nudity, strong language, substances, or gambling, and no online interaction. The heaviest material is a quiet, lonely tone stemming from the abandoned colony and its missing people.

How it's framed

The game frames Joule as a hopeful survivor rebuilding and befriending robots rather than a killer; conflict is against malfunctioning machines, and the emotional weight lies in companionship and uncovering what went wrong with the colony rather than in violence or menace.
