What it is

Ring Fit Adventure is a fitness role-playing game for the Nintendo Switch that ships with a flexible ring controller (the Ring-Con) and a leg strap. A young athlete teams up with a talking ring to stop a bodybuilding dragon named Dragaux, running in place through colorful worlds and fighting cartoon monsters in turn-based battles where every attack is a real exercise like squats, presses, and yoga poses. Beyond the story mode there are guided workout routines, rhythm exercising set to Nintendo music, and light party mini-games. The content is limited to whimsical, bloodless monster combat; there is no bad language, no sexual content, no substances, and no online interaction with strangers.

How it's framed

The game frames its conflict as an upbeat, encouraging fitness journey — combat is a metaphor for working out, enemies are goofy and non-threatening, and the tone throughout is motivational rather than menacing, with the ring companion cheering the player on.
