What it is

Soundpad is not a game but a desktop audio utility that routes sound clips and music through your microphone so they can be heard by others in voice chat applications such as Discord, Teamspeak, Mumble, and in-game voice channels. It lets you assign hotkeys to audio files, record and trim clips with a built-in editor, and normalize volume levels. It plays a wide range of audio formats and works by extending your default recording device. The program itself contains no story, characters, or gameplay content — what a listener hears depends entirely on which sound files the user supplies and plays.

How it's framed

The tool is content-neutral: it stores and plays whatever audio files the user adds, and any voice-chat interaction happens inside the separate application the user connects it to rather than within Soundpad itself. It is designed for playing sound effects, music, and voice callouts during gaming or streaming.
