What it is

The Walking Dead is a five-episode, choice-driven adventure set during a zombie outbreak in Georgia, where you play Lee Everett, a convicted man who takes charge of protecting a young girl named Clementine. Gameplay is mostly conversation, light puzzle-solving, and timed quick-reaction prompts rather than constant combat, but the world is grim and violent: undead are killed with blows and gunfire that draw blood, people are eaten and torn apart, and one scene shows a limb being amputated. Beyond the gore, the game leans hard into emotional and moral weight — the death of children, cannibalism, a suicide, and repeated no-win decisions about who lives and dies. Strong profanity runs throughout. It is a single-player experience with no online play, chat, or purchases.

How it's framed

The game deliberately avoids a clear good-versus-evil framework; choices are ambiguous and mainly shape how characters feel about Lee rather than delivering tidy rewards or punishments. Violence is framed as desperate survival, and the story treats loss, sacrifice, and difficult choices as the emotional core rather than as spectacle.
