What it is

WipEout Omega Collection is a remastered bundle of futuristic anti-gravity racing games (Wipeout HD, the Fury expansion, and Wipeout 2048) in which the player pilots sleek hovering craft around neon sci-fi tracks at extreme speeds. Alongside pure races there are combat-oriented modes where craft pick up and fire weapons at one another; a ship whose energy shield is depleted will explode and drop out. The action is fast, abstract, and machine-on-machine, with a driving electronic soundtrack and no human characters, blood, or objectionable language. It supports local split-screen and online multiplayer racing.

How it's framed

The game frames its content purely as high-speed competitive sport; weapons and explosions target unmanned racing craft rather than people, and the tone is slick and futuristic rather than menacing or gory.
