What it is

Buckshot Roulette is a minimalist first-person horror game built around a modified game of Russian roulette played with a pump-action shotgun. Across three rounds you sit across from a silent, menacing figure called the Dealer, and each turn you choose to fire the loaded shotgun at the Dealer or at your own head — a live shell costs a life while a blank lets you keep your turn. Lives are tracked as defibrillator charges, and from the second round both sides draw consumable items (a cigarette that restores a charge, a beer that ejects the chambered shell, a magnifying glass, pills, and more) that add layers of strategy. An endless 'Double or Nothing' mode wagers escalating in-game cash, and a multiplayer mode lets up to four people play the same deadly game against each other. Shots produce a blunt blood spatter in a low-poly style; the game contains no sexual content, nudity, or scripted profanity.

How it's framed

The game frames its violence as a bleak, ritualized standoff rather than glorified action, with every trigger pull presented as a coin-flip between life and death. Self-directed shots are a mechanical part of the roulette rules rather than depicted as despair, and death is repeatedly undone by defibrillator charges, keeping the tone tense and gamey rather than realistic. The only reward is money won in the wagering mode, tying the dread directly to gambling stakes.
