Content Warning is a co-op horror game for up to four players who descend by diving bell into a monster-filled underground world to film scary footage, then upload it to a fictional video site to hit a view quota and earn money for upgrades. Play revolves around exploring dark procedural ruins while a shared oxygen timer ticks down, dodging or fleeing creatures that chase and attack, and hauling injured or dead teammates back to be revived. The tone mixes genuine scares — being hunted, jump scares, monsters that drain your health — with slapstick physics and the comedy of watching your own footage back. Harm is stylised with no blood or gore, there is no sexual content, profanity in the game's own script, or purchasable content, and the standout feature is close voice-chat coordination with teammates or strangers in public lobbies.
How it's framed
The game frames its horror as entertainment to be manufactured: danger is valuable because filming a scarier monster earns more views and money, so players are pushed to seek out threats rather than avoid them. Death and injury to characters are treated as comedy — a ragdoll corpse to laugh at and revive — rather than as something grim or consequential.
