Diablo II: Resurrected is a remaster of the classic action role-playing game in which you build a hero, battle through a dark fantasy world, and hunt down the demon lords behind a spreading corruption. Gameplay is fast, top-down combat where you slay endless waves of demons, undead, and beasts, collecting loot and growing stronger. Combat produces red blood and gore effects, and the world is steeped in demonic and gothic imagery, including Hell itself, crypts full of the undead, and pentagram-style summoning symbols. There is very little strong language and no sexual content, but the tone is consistently grim and violent. It can be played solo or online with other players through text-based public games.
How it's framed
The game frames the player as a hero fighting to stop the Prime Evils and save the world from demonic corruption, so violence is directed at monstrous, clearly evil enemies and cast as heroic. Its occult and hellish imagery is presented as the source of the evil being opposed rather than something celebrated, though dark and demonic visuals are pervasive throughout.
