Cartoonish action in which Donkey Kong punches, slaps, rolls into, and throws chunks of terrain at fantastical enemies; no blood or realistic injury.
Donkey Kong Bananza is a 3D platformer for the Nintendo Switch 2 in which you play as Donkey Kong digging toward the planet's core alongside a companion named Pauline. The core activity is exploration and destruction: DK smashes, punches, and tears apart almost any terrain to open paths, uncover collectible banana-shaped gems, solve puzzles, and clear challenge rooms. Combat is light and cartoonish — you defeat stylized creatures and bosses by hitting them or hurling chunks of the environment, with no blood, gore, or mature content. There is no bad language, sexual content, substances, or gambling. Animal-themed power-up transformations (gorilla, zebra, ostrich, elephant, snake) grant new movement abilities. A second player can join locally or online via GameShare to control Pauline, but there is no open chat with strangers and no in-game purchases.
The game frames its action as upbeat, comedic adventure centered on exploration and the joy of smashing scenery; conflict is playful and consequence-free, with defeated enemies simply disappearing and the story built around a friendly hero helping a companion.
