ENDLESS Legend is a fantasy strategy title played in turns, following the 4X pattern, where players take charge of a single faction chosen from a roster of varied groups on Auriga, a world that is dying out. Across a map built from hexagonal tiles, play involves scouting terrain, establishing settlements, advancing through a tech tree, conducting trade, holding diplomatic talks, and going to battle in order to grow a realm. Fighting resolves through tactical, stylized encounters pitting units of soldiers and mythical beings against one another, and these clashes contain no blood or gore. A mournful mood runs through the material, with a world gradually icing over toward extinction and factions whose histories are grim, yet the game includes nothing sexual, no coarse language, no drugs or alcohol, and no gambling, nor does it sell anything within the app. Players may also connect with others online, and text chat is available during those sessions.

The title casts its subject matter as empire-building and conquest on a sweeping scale within a sorrowful fantasy setting.
