What it is
HoloCure - Save the Fans! is a free roguelike 'bullet-heaven' survival game in which you play as one of dozens of anime VTuber characters from the Hololive group and automatically blast through swarming waves of mind-controlled 'fan' enemies, surviving 20-minute runs and defeating stage bosses. Combat is cartoonish and top-down with no blood or gore. Between runs there is a farm-life 'Holo House' mode where you fish, grow crops, raise pets, decorate, and play minigames, including a small casino with simulated slots and card games that use in-game money. New characters are earned through a gacha system that spends only in-game currency, and character designs range from cutesy to more revealing anime outfits. There are no real-money purchases and the game is entirely single-player with no in-game chat.
How it's framed
The game frames itself as an affectionate, lighthearted celebration of the Hololive fandom, casting the player as a hero rescuing brainwashed fans; combat is comedic and consequence-free, and its gacha and casino elements are presented as play money with no way to spend real cash.
