Stylized fantasy combat against goblins, orcs, trolls, and undead with visible blood splatter and enemies bursting apart when killed; frequent comedic friendly-fire deaths among co-op players.
Wolves and similar beasts appear among the enemy creatures the player fights as ordinary combat.
Occasional mild swearing appears in the game's comedic, satirical dialogue.
Magicka is a satirical, top-down fantasy action game where up to four wizards from a sacred order set out to stop an evil sorcerer, in a world loosely based on Norse mythology and packed with parody and pop-culture jokes. Combat centers on combining elements to cast spells, and battles get chaotic and gory in a stylized way — enemies like goblins, orcs, trolls, wolves, and undead splatter blood and burst apart when defeated, and co-op players routinely blow one another up by accident for comedic effect. Content is light overall: mild comedic profanity and crude humor, no sexual content, nudity, or substances. It offers online co-op and competitive play with others, but has no in-game voice or text chat.
The game frames its violence through broad comedy and parody rather than realism — deaths are exaggerated and played for laughs, and the fantasy wizardry is treated as a game mechanic and a vehicle for satire of the high-fantasy genre rather than as anything darker.
