Nioh: Complete Edition is a demanding Souls-like action RPG set in a fictionalized version of Japan in the year 1600, where you play William, a foreign samurai fighting his way through human warriors and supernatural monsters called yokai. The core of the game is fast, difficult sword combat: you slash, block, and dodge enemies who are cut down amid sprays of blood. Beyond the frequent bloody violence, the game leans on dark, grim subject matter (war, death, cursed spirits) and features grotesque, sometimes frightening demon and ghost designs. There is little to no strong language, no sexual content beyond some revealing enemy attire, and no in-app purchases. Optional cooperative play lets other players join your missions, but the game offers no meaningful in-game text or voice chat.
