Stylized aerial combat in which the player's dragon breathes fire, casts spells, and strikes monsters, undead, and corrupted creatures; enemies burst or vanish without gore.
The setting centers on an ancient spreading evil that corrupts the land like a creeping mould and threatens villages, with one dragon able to raise the dead as a combat power.
Enemies include undead creatures and monsters spawned by a spreading corruption, and one playable dragon is a necromancer that raises the dead to fight alongside it.
The I of the Dragon is a fantasy action-RPG where you play as one of three ancient dragons defending the land of Nimoa from a spreading evil. You fly over forests, mountains, and villages, using fire breath and magic to destroy monsters and undead, protect settlements, and reclaim corrupted territory that can then grow into towns. Your dragon gains experience and unlocks new powers over the campaign, including a necromancer dragon that can raise the dead to fight. Combat is stylized fantasy violence against monsters with no blood or gore, and there is no sexual content, strong language, substances, or online interaction. The game is single-player only.
The game frames the player as a protector: the dragon is the world's last defense against an ancient corruption, and reclaiming land to rebuild towns is presented as restoring a threatened world rather than causing harm.
