Top-down tactical gunfire against mutated alien creatures with blood spray on kills and player deaths; no dismemberment or gore focus.
Backdrop of a ruined Earth and isolated colonists fighting for survival after a Mars colony goes dark.
Tense survival atmosphere with waves of mutated monsters emerging during a planet-wide storm; unsettling but not graphic.
The Red Solstice is a top-down tactical squad shooter set in 2280 on a terraformed Mars, where an elite marine team investigates a colony that has gone silent during a planet-wide dust storm. You direct marines through mission maps, managing equipment, class abilities, and an ailment system (bleeding, poison), fighting waves of alien creatures and mutants. Combat is ranged and tactical rather than up-close; killing creatures and losing marines produces blood, and Steam flags frequent violence or gore. It supports up to eight-player online co-op with voice and text chat, so children can hear and type with strangers in public games. There is no sexual content, nudity, strong language, or in-app purchases.
The game frames its violence as a desperate last-stand survival effort by soldiers against a hostile alien infestation; enemies are non-human creatures, and the tone is a grim military-horror struggle to reach and rescue a lost colony rather than a celebration of harm.
