What it is

This title blends turn-based strategy with tactics that unfold in real time, drawing on the shadowy fantasy of the Warhammer setting. A player takes charge of a single faction chosen from assorted mortal realms and Chaos hosts, overseeing towns and negotiating with rivals across a campaign map, then directing large-scale clashes where troops, beasts, and daemons fight live on the field. The fighting is shown with heavy visual violence — bleeding, gore, and a toggle that intensifies the bloodshed. Its atmosphere runs bleak, with a plot touching on killing, decay, and the devouring of souls; the daemonic sides center on venerating dark deities, sacrificial rites, and conjuring. Certain daemon models feature revealing or suggestive appearances. Matches played online against unknown opponents come with typed messaging, and Steam Workshop lets players load community-created modifications.

How it's framed

Rather than celebrating brutality as an end in itself, the game treats its bloodshed and Chaos worship as threads woven into the grim fabric of its invented world. Control can fall to either the living defenders or the Chaos forces that corrupt them, and depending on which side a player picks, the story casts Chaos and its rites as a dread either to be fought off or given in to.
