V Rising is an online survival action-RPG where you play a newly awakened vampire building power in an open gothic world. You hunt humans and creatures in stylized top-down combat, bite near-dead enemies to drink their blood for buffs, gather resources, and construct and defend a castle while avoiding sunlight. Progression comes from defeating bosses to unlock gear, spells, and abilities like necromancy and bat form. It can be played solo on PvE servers or on PvP servers where players raid and loot each other's castles, and it supports online play with voice and text chat.

The game frames vampiric predation as an empowering fantasy: draining human blood and enslaving defeated foes are rewarded mechanics that make you stronger, presented in a gothic-horror tone without moral commentary.
