What it is

DEVOUR is a cooperative horror survival title playable solo or with up to four participants, casting everyone as followers of a demonic sect scrambling to save a fellow member who has fallen under the control of a goat demon. The game rotates through a small set of locations — among them a farmhouse, an asylum, and a slaughterhouse — where the group gathers fuel and dismantles ten ritual totems as a wandering possessed figure stalks them and packs of minor demons close in; being caught leads to going down, being hauled away, or dying. Its design leans on tension, pursuit, and startle moments instead of explicit gore. The material revolves around satanic and demonic occult visuals, bodily possession, and heavy grim subject matter, and blood appears when attacks land. Sessions run over the internet with voice chat available, and the game offers purchasable cosmetic skins as optional extras.

How it's framed

Occult elements and violence function here as engines of terror and adrenaline: the cultists, the goat demon, and the ritual represent the danger the group is racing to end, while the possessed member is a pursuer to escape and outlast rather than a role the game encourages the player to take on. The scares lean on mood and teamwork, making dread and last-second getaways the central experience.
