Some of the units bought and placed on the board are beasts and animal-like fantasy monsters, such as wolves and boars, and rounds are fought against packs of them. Defeated units simply fall over and disappear, with no blood or injury shown.

What it is
Dota Underlords is a free-to-play auto battler set in the Dota fantasy world. You buy and place small fantasy hero units on a grid, arrange them during a prep phase, then watch them fight an opponent's team automatically without further input; matches pit up to eight players against each other online until one remains. The action is stylized and bloodless, more like watching chess pieces battle than a combat game. There is no sexual content, profanity, substances, or scary material. It supports online matchmaking, co-op Duos, and cross-play between PC and mobile, with basic in-match text chat among strangers and the ability to add friends; the game has been effectively abandoned since 2020.
How it's framed
Combat is abstract and strategic, framed around outsmarting rivals by building the strongest team rather than any depicted harm; heroes are stylized units and there is no narrative violence, victim framing, or mature theming.
