What it is

Pummel Party is a 4-8 player party game for local play and online play with others, built around a shared board mode and a large rotating set of fast minigames. Players use exaggerated items — drills, chainsaws, bombs, spikes and similar gadgets — to knock each other around and score points, with cartoon characters taking hits accompanied by a stylised red splatter effect but no visible wounds or gore. The tone is comedic and chaotic rather than dark, and much of the friction comes from competitive sabotage between players. Online sessions can include voice and text chat, and Steam Workshop lets players add community-made maps and minigames.

How it's framed

The game frames its violence as slapstick competition: the goal is to outscore and out-sabotage the other players using ridiculous gadgets, and the harm is treated as bloodless cartoon comedy rather than realistic injury. Nothing in the game presents its content as serious or consequential.
