What it is
Star Wars: Battlefront is a large-scale first- and third-person shooter that drops the player into famous battles from the Star Wars films, fighting on foot and in more than 25 ground and air vehicles across four factions. Combat is the entire focus: soldiers and battle droids trade blaster fire, artillery, and grenades to capture command posts, but the violence is bloodless and stylized, with no blood, injury detail, or gore. There is no sexual content, profanity, substances, or spending. The game supported online multiplayer with up to 64 players via open voice and text chat with strangers on original launch servers (since replaced by community-run servers), which carries the usual unmoderated-chat exposure of the era.
How it's framed
The game frames its fighting as heroic large-army warfare within the Star Wars fiction, letting the player take either side of each conflict without moral judgment; enemies are troopers and droids, and defeat is shown as clean, bloodless removal from the battlefield rather than graphic death.
