Alcohol fits the pirate setting and can be brewed and consumed on screen, producing an intoxication effect on the character.

Violence realistic
Moderate

The player fights other players, NPC pirates and skeletal enemies with melee weapons, firearms and cannons, and blood is shown on hits; there is no dismemberment or gore.

Piracy is the core loop: the player boards and plunders rival ships and can seize or steal land claims, including from offline players.

Low

Death, starvation and the raiding of other players' bases are ordinary survival outcomes, presented as gameplay rather than dwelt on.

Undead skeleton crews and ghostly Ships of the Damned give parts of the ocean an eerie tone, but nothing hunts or is timed to startle the player.

Animal combat combat mechanic
Low

Wild animals such as bears, lions and tigers are hunted and killed for resources, or trapped and tamed, as standard survival gameplay.

What it is

ATLAS is a large-scale pirate survival MMO in which players build ships, gather resources, tame animals and sail a vast shared ocean alongside thousands of others, choosing between cooperative (PvE) and open-combat (PvP) worlds. Play centres on staying alive by managing hunger, hydration and a four-part vitamin system while cutting trees, mining rock and crafting. Combat is frequent — against other players, NPC pirates and undead skeleton crews — using melee weapons, muskets and ship cannons, with blood shown but no dismemberment. Players form companies, claim and defend land, and can raid rival bases. Alcohol appears as a period-appropriate consumable, hunting wildlife for resources is a core loop, and the persistent online world means near-constant contact with strangers over open voice and text chat.

How it's framed

The game frames piracy as adventure and competition: raiding, claiming territory and out-surviving rivals are presented as the goal rather than as wrongdoing, and there is no moral commentary on the conflict. Death, hunger and losing a base to attackers are treated as survival stakes and setbacks to overcome, not as dwelt-upon distress.
