What it is
DOOM is a fast, aggressive first-person shooter in which you play a lone armored marine fighting a demonic invasion across a corporate research base on Mars and, later, through Hell. Combat is relentless and extremely gory: you cut through waves of demons with an arsenal of guns and a chainsaw, and finish weakened enemies with brutal hand-to-hand 'glory kills' that dismember them in close detail. Blood, torn bodies, pentagrams, sacrificial altars and hellish imagery are constant, and the dialogue carries strong profanity. This bundle includes the campaign plus multiplayer modes and the SnapMap tool for building and sharing custom levels; there is no in-game voice or text chat, and no real-money purchases.
How it's framed
The game frames its violence as heroic extermination: demons are unambiguous monsters, and the marine's willingness to destroy them without hesitation is treated as the point rather than a moral question. The corporation that mined Hell for power is presented as reckless and culpable, and the cult that performed the summoning ritual is cast as villainous, so the gore is wrapped in a clear us-against-Hell struggle rather than presented as cruelty for its own sake.
