What it is
Football Manager 2017 is a deep soccer management simulation where you take the role of a club manager rather than controlling players on the pitch. You handle transfers, contracts, tactics, training schedules, team talks, press conferences, and the day-to-day running of a football club across licensed leagues around the world. Matches play out through a 3D simulation you watch and direct from the sideline. There is no violent, sexual, or otherwise mature content; the entire experience is spreadsheets, menus, and simulated football matches. An online network mode lets you manage against other people in the same save.
How it's framed
The game frames everything through the lens of professional football management — success is measured in results, finances, and reputation. It presents realistic pressures of the job (board expectations, media scrutiny, player morale) but contains no morally charged mature content.
