What it is

Lethal Company is a four-player co-op horror game where you work as an expendable contractor for a corporation, landing on abandoned industrial moons to collect scrap and sell it to meet rising profit quotas. You explore dark factories and mines full of environmental hazards and monsters, using tools to fight or flee while racing back to your ship before nightfall. Content is driven by tense horror atmosphere and comedic chaos: characters die in bloody ways that can include dismemberment or decapitation by creatures, and players can use a fictional medical stimulant inhalant that has side effects. There is no sexual content, and the game itself contains no scripted profanity, but it is played online with proximity voice and text chat, so what strangers say in public lobbies is not controlled by the game.

How it's framed

The game frames its violence and gore comedically as much as fearfully—death is frequent, sudden, and often played for laughs among friends—while its underlying story treats the players as disposable workers grinding for an uncaring Company that discards them when they fail. It does not moralize about its content; it presents scavenging, monster encounters, and drug use as neutral tools of survival and dark humor.
