The player fights roaming creatures, insects and bosses in stylized top-down combat; defeated enemies flash and vanish with no blood, visible wounds or gore.
The underground biomes use dark, moody lighting and eerie music that give a mildly spooky tone, but nothing hunts the player or is timed to startle them.
The player fights and kills cave creatures, insects and beasts and can fish as ordinary gameplay, with no graphic butchery or lingering wounds.
Core Keeper is a top-down mining sandbox survival game for one to eight players set in a procedurally generated underground world. Players dig through terrain, gather and refine resources, build and automate bases, farm, cook, fish, and fight their way through progressively deeper biomes toward the mystery of an ancient Core. Combat is stylized and bloodless: the player battles roaming creatures, insects and larger bosses that flash and disappear when defeated, with no blood, wounds or dismemberment shown. The caverns are dark and atmospheric with eerie creature designs, but the game does not hunt or ambush the player as a horror game would. There is no sexual content, nudity, profanity in its script, alcohol or drugs, gambling, or real-money purchases. Cooperative play supports up to eight people on locally hosted or dedicated servers, typically joined by invitation.
The game frames its content as cozy exploration and progression-driven survival crafting. Combat is presented as a stylized mechanic against fantasy creatures rather than as graphic harm, and its darker cave setting is atmospheric mood rather than distressing subject matter, with no moral weight attached to fighting the world's creatures.
